Safe drivingQuestion 183 of 215

The engine stops while you drive. Why must you not turn the ignition off?

  1. The steering will lock.
  2. The hazard lights will go out.
  3. The horn will not work.
  4. The tires will lock.
Show answer

Correct answer: The steering will lock.

With power steering, you can still steer after the engine stops, but it takes more effort. Turning off the ignition locks the steering.
