A cyclist rides near the right edge. The road has a double solid centre line. You cannot keep 1 metre away unless you cross the line. What does the law allow?

  1. You must stay behind the cyclist until the line ends
  2. You may cross the line only after you sound the horn
  3. You may cross the line to pass if it is safe and the other passing rules are met
  4. You may pass with less than 1 metre of space
Show answer

Correct answer: You may cross the line to pass if it is safe and the other passing rules are met

The law has an exception for a bicycle. You may use the left side to give the cyclist 1 m, if you can see far enough and the oncoming lane is free.
